কে তুই এভাবে বিষণ্ণ করে গেলি আজ বিকেল
তোকে কতদিন ধরে চিনি আমি?
তোর জন্যই কি সাজিয়ে রাখছি আজন্ম ব্যাকুলতা;
তোর জন্য গান, রংধনু, প্রজাপতির ডানা
সবকিছু কি গুছিয়ে রাখছি ঠিকঠাক;
তুই আসবি বলে?

আজ বিকেলে হঠাৎ ব্যস্ত গোঁধুলির মোড়ে
দাঁড়িয়ে পড়েছিলাম নিশ্চুপ ;
তুই কি মেরেছিলি উঁকি নি:শ্বাসে?
নাকি ডাক দিয়েছিলি মগজে?
নয়ত এমন থমকে গেলাম যে !!
একটা আওয়াজ বিদীর্ন করে গেল মাঠ
হালকা হাওয়ায় ছুঁয়ে গেল রং ধীরে !!!
সেই যে বিষণ্ণ করে গেলি তারপর বহু পথ গেল চলে !!
কত ব্যথা, ক্লান্তি, শ্রমের পরও জেগে রইলি তুই!

তুই কি আছিস সত্যি? আসবি আবার?
হাত ধরে হাঁটবি এবার?
বলবি এসে বাবা চলো;
মাকে নিয়ে আকাশ দেখে আসি !!
