ফিতনা শব্দটি আরবী। এর ভিন্ন ভিন্ন অর্থ আছে। বিপর্যয়, নৈরাজ্য, অন্তর্ঘাত, অরাজকতা ইত্যাদি।
ইসলামে মুসলমান মুসলমান মতবিরোধের জেরে যে দ্বন্দ, ফ্যাসাদ বা যুদ্ধ শুরু হয়েছিল সেটাই ফিতনা নামে পরিচিতি।মুসলমানদের গৃহযুদ্ধ
ইসলামের ইতিহাসে তিনটি ফিতনা গুরুত্বের সাথে বিবেচনা করা হয়। ৬৫৬-৬৬১ খ্রি. এই পাঁচ বছর ব্যাপি চলে প্রথম ফিতনা, ৬৮০-৬৯২ এই বারো বছর চলে দ্বিতীয় ফিতনা আর তৃতীয় ফিতনা চলে ৭৪৪-৭৫০ সাল পর্যন্ত ছয় বছর ।
এবারের পর্বে নজর দিতে চাই প্রথম ফিতনার দিকে।

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter
and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
