বর্তমানে পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে সম্মানজনক পুরস্কারের নাম ‘নোবেল’। ১৯০১ সালে থেকে প্রতি বছর পৃথিবীর শ্রেষ্ঠ ৬ জন মানুষ বা প্রতিষ্ঠানকে বেছে নেয়া হয় এই পুরস্কারের জন্য। ২০১৯ সাল পর্যন্ত সারা পৃথিবীর ৯৫০ জনকে এই পুরষ্কারে সম্মানিত করা হয়েছে। নোবেল নিয়ে কিছুটা বির্তক থাকলেও পুরস্কার হিসেবে এখনও এটিই সবচেয়ে সমাদৃত এবং কাঙ্খিত পুরস্কার । কিন্তু কতজন মুসলমান এই পুরষ্কার পেয়েছেন জানেন?
এখন পর্যন্ত ২৩ টি প্রতিষ্ঠান ও ৯২৭ জন ব্যক্তিকে এই সম্মানজন পুরুস্কার দেয়া হয়েছে । এর মধ্যে মাত্র ১৩ জন মুসলমানকে এই নোবেল দেয়া হয়েছে । এই ১৩ জনের মধ্যে নারী আছে মাত্র ৩ জন। আর বেশিরভাগ পুরস্কারই এসেছে শান্তিতে মোট ৮ টি, এছাড়া সাহিত্যে ০২, রসায়নে ০২ এবং পদার্থে ০১ টি পুরস্কার। চিকিৎসা ও অর্থনীতিতে এখনও কোন মুসলমান নোবেল পায়নি।
মুসলমান দেশ হিসেবে ৮টি দেশ নোবেল পেয়েছে, যাদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে বেশি পেয়েছে মিসর মোট ৪টি, এরপর তুরুস্ক ২ টি, পাকিস্তানের ২টি, যাদের মধ্যে আছে পদার্থ বিজ্ঞানে পাওয়া একমাত্র মুসলিম বিজ্ঞানী। আর ফিলিস্তিন, ইরান, বাংলাদেশ, ইয়েমেন ও সর্বশেষ ২০১৯ সালে ইথুপিয়া একটি করে পুরস্কার পায় যারা প্রত্যেকে পুরস্কার পেয়েছে শান্তিতে।
মুসলমানদের মধ্যে প্রথম নোবেল পান মিসরের প্রেসিডেন্ট আনোয়ার সাদাত। ১৯৭৮ সালে। মিশর ও ইসরাইলের মধ্য যে শান্তি চুক্তি হয় তারই ফলশ্রুতিতে ইসরাইলের প্রেসিডেন্ট মেনাখেম বেগিনের সাথে তিনি শান্তিতে এই নোবেল পুরস্কার পান।
মোহাম্মদ আব্দুস সালাম ১৯৭৯ ইলেকট্রউইক তত্ত্বের জন্য পদার্থ বিদ্যায় আরো দুজন বিজ্ঞানীর সাথে যৌথভাবে নোবেল পান । প্রথমও পাকিস্তানি ও প্রথম মুসলমান বিজ্ঞানী হিসেবে তিনি এই গৌরব অর্জন করেন।

প্রথম মুসলিম নারী হিসবে শান্তিতে নোবেল দেয়া হয় শিরিন এবাদিকে। ২০০৩ ইরানের এই নারীকে সম্মান জানানো হয়। ইরানে প্রথম ও একমাত্র ব্যক্তি যিনি নোবেল পেয়েছেন ।
২০০৫ সালে মোহাম্মাদ এল বা বারাদি সামরিক কাজে পরমানু শক্তির ব্যাবহার নিশ্চিতে ভুমিকা রাখায় আন্তজাতিক পরমান শক্তি সংস্থা আইএই সাথে মিশরীয়কে এই রাজনীতিবিদকে শান্তিতে দেয়া হয়।
২০০৬ সালে দরিদ্র জনগোষ্ঠির জন্য অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক উন্নয়নের সুযোগ তৈরীতে ভুমিকা রাখায় শান্তিতে নোবেল পান বাংলাদেশের মুহাম্মদ ইউনুস ও গ্রামীন ব্যাংক। তিনি প্রথম বাংলাদেশি এবং প্রথম বাঙ্গালী মুসলমান । বাঙ্গালীদের মধ্যে রবীন্দ্রনাথ , অমত্যৃ সেন ও অভিজিৎ ব্যানার্জি এ পুরস্কার পেয়েছেন।
ওরহান পামুক। ২০০৬ মাই নেম ইজ রেড, স্নো’র মতো উপন্যাসের লেখক তিনি । তুরুস্কের এই লেখক দ্বিতীয় মুসলিম লেখক যিনি এই সম্মানে ভূষিত হন।
প্রথম আরব নারী হিসেবে তাওয়াক্কুল কারমান ২০১১ সালে এই সম্মান অর্জন করেন। নারীর নিরাপত্তা ও অধিকার আদায়ে অহিংস আন্দোলনে জন্য আরো দুই নারীর সাথে এই পুরস্কার পান ইয়েমেনি এই নাগরিক ।
মালালা ইউসুফজাই ২০১৪, মেয়েদির শিক্ষা প্রসারে ভুমিকা রাখার জন্য । মাত্র সতেরো বছর বয়সে পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে কমবয়সী ব্যক্তি হিসবে এই সম্মানজনক পুরস্কার অর্জন করেন পাকিস্তানের এই কিশোরী।
২০১৫ সালে তুরুস্কের আজিজ সানজার ডিএনএ সংশোধন নিয়ে কার থমাস দুজনের সাথে যৌথভাবে এই্ পুরস্কার পান।প্রথম তুকী রসায়নবিদ হিসেবে তিনি এই পুরস্কার পান।
সবশেষ ২০১৯ সালে ইথুপিয়ার প্রধানমন্ত্রী আবি আহমেদ আলি মাত্র ৪৩ বছর বয়সে এই পুরস্কার পান । তিনি ১০০তম শান্তিতে নোবেল বিজয়ী ব্যক্তি।
