পারভেজ সেলিম ।।
আঠারো শতকের শেষের দিকে জায়ানিজম বা ইহুদীবাদ ধারণা গড়ে উঠতে শুরু করে ইউরোপে। ইউরোপ ও রাশিয়ায় ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে থাকা ইহুদীদের জন্য একটি আলাদা রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠাই তাদের একমাত্র লক্ষ্য ।
তবে ইহুদী ধর্ম মতে তাদের নবী ‘মশীহ’ আবারও পৃথিবীতে না আসা পর্যন্ত তাদের নিজস্ব কোন রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠা হবে না। ইহুদীদের সেই ধর্ম বিশ্বাসকে পাশ কাটিয়ে জায়ানবাদিরা একটি স্বতন্ত্র ইহুদী রাষ্ট্র তৈরির আন্দোলন বেশ জনপ্রিয় করে তোলে ইউপরোপ আমেরিকায়।
১৮৯৭ সালে থিওডোর হার্সেল নামের্ এক ইহুদি ‘ওয়াল্ড জায়ানিষ্ট অর্গানাজেশন’ নামের একটি সংগঠন গড়ে তোলেন । তারা প্রথমে ধারণা করেছিলেন ইউরোপের কোথাও ইহুদীদের জন্য একটি ছোট রাষ্ট্র হবে।কিন্তু সেসময় এন্টি সেমিটিজম বা ইহুদী বিদ্বেষ গোটা ইউরোপ জুড়ে এত প্রবল ছিল যে, সেই সম্ভাবনা পুরোপুরি নাকচ হয়ে যায় ।
হার্সেল এই সময় আন্দোলনকে আরো জোরদার করে তোলে।জায়ানবাদিরা মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের ফিলিস্তিন ভুখন্ডে তাদের রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠার স্বপ্ন দেখতে থাকে । কারণ তারা মনে করে ফিলিস্তিনই তাদের আদি ভুখন্ড । কয়েক হাজার বছর আগে সেখান থেকেই ইহুদীরা বিতাড়িত হয়েছিল।
তাদের বিশ্বাস ইহুদীদের পরিত্রাতা ‘মসীহ’ ফিরে আসবেন ফিলিস্তিনের পবিত্র শহর জেরুজালেমে। তাই ইহুদিদের কাঙ্খিত রাষ্ট্রের যোগ্যতম স্থান হলো ফিলিস্তিন। একটি স্লোগান সেসময় খুব জনপ্রিয় হয়ে ওঠে ইউরোপে ‘ মানুষ বিহীন দেশটি হবে, দেশহীন মানুষদের জন্য’ । জায়ানবাদিরা প্রচার করছিল ফিলিস্তিনের জনমানব শুন্য জায়গায় তারা ইহুদী রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠা করবে। তাদের এই প্রচারণা সঠিক ছিল না।
শেষ পর্যন্ত রাজনৈতিক কুটচালে ফিলিস্তিন ভুখন্ডে ইহুদী রাষ্ট্র গঠনের স্বপ্ন পুরন হয় ইহুদীদের। সাথে ধ্বংস হয়ে যায় স্থানীয় ফিলিস্তিনিদের নিজস্ব স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্রের স্বপ্ন ।
অনেকে মনে করেন ইউরোপিয়রা অবিশ্বাস করতো ইহুদীদের, ইউরোপে ইহুদীদের দেশ হোক এটা কেউই চায়নি, মধ্যপ্রাচ্য ইহুদিদের পাঠিয়ে দিয়ে তাই ইউরোপিয়রা নিজেদের রক্ষা করেছে বলেই অনেকের ধারণা।
প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের পর :
প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের আগে ফিলিস্তিন ছিল অটোমান সাম্রাজ্যের অধীনে। প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধে তুরুস্ক হেরে গেলে শেষ হয় কয়কশো বছরের উসমানীয় মুসলসানদের শাসন। ফিলিস্তিন চলে যায় ব্রিটেন ও ফ্রান্সের দখলে। দুইটি ইউরোপিয় সাম্রাজ্যবাদি রাষ্ট্র ভাগাভাগি করে ত্রিশ বছর শাসন করতে থাকে ফিলিস্তিনকে।
১৯১৭ সালের ২ নভেম্বর বেলফোর ঘোষণার মাধ্যমে ইহুদীদের জন্য একটি স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্র তৈরি পথ প্রশস্ত করে ব্রিটেন। ব্যারন রথচাইল্ড ছিলেন সেসময়ের একজন ডাকসাইটে ব্রিটিশ ইহুদী নেতা। তাকে একটি চিঠি লিখেছিলেন যুক্তরাজ্যের পররাষ্ট্র সচিব আর্থার জেমস বেলফোর । সেই চিঠিতেই প্রথম ইহুদী রাষ্ট্র গঠনে তাদের সম্মতির কথা জানায় ব্রিটেন । পাঁচ দিন পর চিঠিটি সংবাদ মাধ্যমে প্রকাশ পেলে ইহুদী রাষ্ট্র গঠনের প্রতিশ্রুতি হিসেবে ‘বেলফোর ঘোষণা’ সারাবিশ্বে দ্রুত ছড়িয়ে পড়ে।
এই ঘোষণার পর দলে দলে ইহুদীদের ফিলিস্তিন ভুখন্ডে যাওয়া বাড়তে থাকে। এর আগে ১৯০২ সালে ইহুদিদের ৩৫ হাজারের একটি দল ফিলিস্তিনে পৌঁছায়। যাকে বলা যায় ইহুদিদের প্রথম আলিয়া। আলিয়া মানে হল ইহুদীদের পুনর্বাসন। এরপর ১৯১৪ সালে ৪০ হাজার, ১৯২৩ সালে ৪০ হাজার ফিলিস্তিনে পৌঁছায়। ১৯২৮ সালে এ সংখ্যা বেড়ে দাঁড়ায় ৮২ হাজারে ।
ফিলিস্তিনের কিটবুস অঞ্চলে তারা এসে প্রথমে বসতি গড়ে। গাজা থেকে মাত্র ২ কিলোমিটার দুরুত্বে কিটবুস। সেখানে প্রাচীনকাল থেকে কিছু ইহুদি স্থানীয় আরবদের সাথে বাস করতো।
এসেই তারা কৃষিকাজের সাথে যুক্ত হয়।জমি কিনি বসতি গড়তে থাকে। প্রথমে স্থানীয় আরবরা তাদের স্বাগত জানিয়েছিল। তারা বুঝতে পারেনি এই জায়গা দেয়াই তাদেরই একদিন কাল হবে , উচ্ছেদ হয়ে যেতে হবে নিজেদের ভুখন্ড থেকে। এটাই ছিল ফিলিস্তিনিদের প্রথম ভুল। ধীরে ধীরে পরিস্থিতি গভীর সংকটের দিকে যেতে থাকে।
১৯০২ সালে ফিলিস্তিনে ছিল মাত্র কয়েক হাজার ইহুদি । ১৯৩১ সালে সেই সংখ্যা যায় ১ লাখ ৮০ হাজার। স্থানীয়দের মধ্যে অসন্তোষ দানা বাঁধতে শুরু করে ।
১৯৩৩ সালে জার্মানিতে ক্ষমতায় আসে হিটলার। নাৎসীদের সাথে চুক্তিতে আবার ৫০ হাজার ইহুদি পাঠানো হয় ফিলিস্তিনে। এটাকে বলা হয় ৫ম আলিয়া । ১৯৪৮ সালে ফিলিস্তিনে ইহুদীর সংখ্যা দাঁড়ায় ৬ লাখ ।

দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে বেঁচে যাওয়া ১ লাখ ইহুদীকে যখন ফিলিস্তিনে পাঠানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় আমেরিকা তখন পরিস্থিতি নতুন দিকে মোড় নেয় ।
ইহুদি রাষ্ট্র প্রতিষ্ঠার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিল যে ব্রিটেন তারাই এবার বিরোধীতা করতে শুরু করে। ব্রিটেনের মতে এই বিশাল সংখ্যক ইহুদি সেখানে গেলে, স্থানীয় আরবদের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষের মাত্রা বেড়ে যাবে। যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা অসম্ভব হয়ে পড়বে।
এমন কথায় ইসরায়েলিরা এক সময়ের মিত্র ব্রিটেনকে শক্র মনে করতে শুরু করে। এবার ব্রিটিশদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ শুরু করে ইহুদীরা। আরব আর ব্রিটিশ দুপক্ষের বিরুদ্ধে একসাথে যুদ্ধ করতে থাকে রাষ্ট্রের স্বপ্নে বিভোর ইহুদীরা।
ব্রিটেন শেষ পর্যন্ত বাধ্য হয়ে বিষয়টি নিয়ে যায় জাতিসংঘে । ১৯৪৮ সালের ১৪ মে জাতিসংঘ একটি নতুন সিদ্ধান্ত চাপিয়ে দেয় ফিলিস্তিনিদের উপর।
ফিলিস্তিন ভুখন্ড ভাগ হয় তিন ভাগে। ৫৬.৫ শতাংশ নিয়ে গঠিত হয় ইহুদি রাষ্ট্র ইসরাইল আর ৪৩.৫ শতাংশ নিয়ে হয় আরব রাষ্ট্র ফিলিস্তিন। পবিত্র শহর জেরুজালেমকে রাখা হয় আন্তর্জাতিক সম্প্রদায়ের নিয়ন্ত্রণে।
ফিলিস্তিনিরা সাথে সাথে এ অন্যায় সিদ্ধান্তকে প্রত্যাখান করে। অন্যদিকে এই সিদ্ধান্তে উল্লাসে ফেটে পড়ে জায়ানবাদিরা। দীর্ঘদিনের কাঙ্খিত একটি দেশের স্বপ্ন পুরুন হয় ইহুদীদের। স্বপ্নের সেই দেশের নাম রাখা হয় ‘ইসরায়েল’।
এরপর ১৯৪৮ থেকে ফিলিস্তিন ও আরব দেশগুলোর মধ্য দ্বন্দ্ব সংঘাতের সুত্রপাত, যা এখনও চলমান। সবচেয়ে দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে চলমান ইসরাইল- ফিলিস্তিন যুদ্ধে এক লক্ষের বেশি মানুষ নিহত হয়েছে। গৃহহীন হয়েছে কয়েক লক্ষ ফিলিস্তিনি।বাকিরা এক অন্ধকারময় ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে সেখানে বসবাস করছে ।
কত প্রজন্মের অপেক্ষার পর, আর কত মানুষের মৃত্যু হলে, শান্তি ফিরে আসবে ফিলিস্তিনে, তা সত্যিই মানুষের অজানা।
