পারভেজ সেলিম ।।
জেরিজালেম পবিত্র শহর।পবিত্র শহরে ভিতরে পবিত্রতম স্থানটির নাম ‘বায়তুল মুকাদ্দাস’ বা ‘টেম্পল মাউন্ট’।ঈশ্বরের ঘরের পাহাড়। জেরুজালেমের এই জায়গাটি নিয়েই দীর্ঘকাল ধরে দ্বন্দ্ব সংঘাত চলমান। প্রশ্ন হচ্ছে কেন এই জায়গাটি এত গুরুত্বপূর্ন?
‘বায়তুল মুকাদ্দাস’ একক কোন স্থাপনা বা মসজিদ, গির্জা বা সিনাগগ নয়। এটি অনেকগুলো স্থাপনার সমন্নয়ে গঠিত একটি বিশাল পবিত্র চত্ত্বর । এটিকে অনেক কয়েকটি নামে ডাকা হয়।মুসলমানরা বলে ‘বাইতুল মোকাদ্দাস’ বা ‘হারাম আল শরিফ’ । আর ইহুদীরা বলে টেম্পল অফ মাউন্ট, টেম্পল অফ সুলেমন, ফাস্ট টেম্পল। বাংলায় অনেকে বলে ‘পবিত্র ঘর’।
‘বাইতুল মোকাদ্দাস’ চত্বরে অনেক কয়েকটি স্থাপনা আছে। যার কোনটি মুসলমানের জন্য, কোনটি ইহুদীদের জন্য, কোনটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ খ্রিস্টানদের জন্য। আবার সবগুলো্ কোন না কোনভাবে সকল ধর্মের ইতিহাসের সাথে জড়িয়ে আছে ।
এখানে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থাপনা আছে তিনটি। এক . আল আকসা মসজিদ, দুই. ডোম অফ দ্যা রক, তিন. ওয়েস্টার্ন ওয়াল। এছাড়া কিব্বাত আস সিলসিলা, কুব্বাত আল মিরাজসহ বেশ কিছু গম্বুজ রয়েছে এ্খানে।
ইসলাম ধর্ম মতে ইব্রাহিম নবী কাবা শরীফ ছাড়াও আরো একটি উপসানার স্থান নির্মাণ করে ছিলেন। সেটি এই জেরুজালেমে। মসজিদুল আল আকসা। কাবা নির্মাণের ৪০ বছর পর খ্রি. পূর্ব ২১৭০ সালে এটি নির্মাণ করেন। মক্কা থেকে এটি দুরে হওয়ায় এর নাম ‘আল আকসা’ বা ‘দুরবর্তী মসজিদ’ নামকরন করা হয়।
তবে স্থানটি সঠিক কোন জায়গায় তার নিশ্চিত করে কেউ বলতে পারেনা। ধারণা করা হয় বায়তুল মুকাদ্দাসের কোন এক জায়গায় তিনি মসজিদটি নির্মাণ করেছিলেন ।
ইব্রাহিমের পুত্র ইসহাক এখানে এক আল্লাহর প্রার্থনা করতেন।পরে ইসহাকের দ্বিতীয় পুত্র ইয়াকুব এটিকে আরো বর্ধিত করেন।
পরবর্তীতে সুলায়মান নবী খ্রি.পুর্ব ১০০৪ সালে এটি নির্মাণ করে। যা ইহুদীদের মতে ‘প্রথম টেম্পল’। আর মুসলমানেরা বিশ্বাস করে এটি নির্মাণের সময় জ্বীনদের ব্যবহার করা হয়েছিল।
খ্রী.পুর্ব ৫৮৬ সালে ব্যবিলনের রাজা দ্বিতীয় নেবুচাদনেজার এটি ধ্বংস করে ।
২০৮ খ্রি. পুর্বাব্দে এখানে আবার স্থাপনা নির্মাণ হয় ,রাজা হোরোড দ্যা গ্রেটের সময়।ওয়েস্টার্ন ওয়ালটা তার সময় নির্মাণ শুরু হয়।
৭০ খ্রি রোমানরা এসে আবার ধ্বংস করে দেয় এবং এখানে দেবতা জুপিটারের উপসানার স্থান নির্মাণ করে ।
৩১৫ খ্রি. রোমান খ্রিস্টানরা এটিকে ময়লা ফেলার জায়গা হিসেবে ব্যবহার করতো।ইহুদিরাও এটাকে পবিত্র স্থান বলে মনে করতো না। পরবর্তীতে মুসলমানেরা জেরুজালেম দখল করলে খলিফা উমর নিজে এই ময়লার জায়গাটি পরিস্কার করে একটি কাঠের মসজিদ নির্মান করে।এই পুরো এলাকাটিকে বলা হয় ‘আল আকসা মসজিদ’ ।
আল আকসা মসজিদ :
এটিও কোন একক মসজিদ নয় । কিবলি মসজিদ, মারওয়ানি মসজিদ ও বুরাক মসজিদকে একসঙ্গে বলা হয় আল আকসা মসজিদ। ‘বায়তুল মোকাদ্দাসে’র বিশাল চত্ত্বরেই সব মসজিদের অবস্থান ।
শেষ নবী মেরাজে যাবার আগে সকল নবীদের নিয়ে যেখানে নামাজ পড়েছিলেন সে স্থানে একটি মসজিদ নির্মাণ করা হয়, সেইটি ‘কিবলি মসজিদ’। পশ্চিম ওয়ালের কোথাও বোরাককে বেঁধে রেখে নামাজ পড়েছিলেন। সেই প্রাচীরে উল্টোদিকেই ‘বুরাক মসজিদ’ । বোরকাকে বেঁধে রাখার কড়াটি এখনও সেখানে দেখা যায়।
‘আল আকসা মসজিদ’ ছিল মুসলমানদের জন্য প্রথম কেবলা। প্রথমে মুসলমানের এই দিকে মুখ করে নামাজ পড়তো। পরে মক্কার দিকে মুসলমানদের কেবলা ঘুরে যায় । তাই মুসলমানদের কাছে এটি খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ন ।
ডোম অব দ্যা রক :
পুরো চত্ত্বরে সোনালী গম্বুজের সবচেয়ে সুন্দর স্থাপনাটির নাম ‘ডোম অব দ্যা রক’ বা ‘কুব্বাতুস সাখারাহ’ । অনেক এটাকেই ‘আল আকসা মসজিদ’ ভেবে ভুল করেন। আসলে এটি পুরো চত্ত্বরে অনেক কয়েকটি মসজিদের মতোই আরেকটি মসজিদ। যার নাম ‘সোনালী গম্বুজের মসজিদ’ বা ‘কুব্বাতুস সাখরাহ’। যেখানে পাথরে উপর দাঁড়িয়ে মুসলমানদের শেষ নবী উর্দ্ধাকাশে গমন করেছিলেন ।
৬৯১ সালে খলিফা আব্দুল মালেক ইবনে মারওয়ান এটির নির্মাণ কাজ শেষ করেন। এটি ইসলামের সবচেয়ে প্রাচীন স্থাপনার নিদর্শণ।
মসজিদেে বাইরের দেয়ালের পাথরগুলো এতটাই উজ্জ্বল যে ১৫০০ বছর পরও মনে হয় যেন কিছুক্ষন আগে রং করা হয়েছে। এটিই ‘বায়তুল মুকাদ্দাসে’র সবচেয়ে আকর্ষনীয় স্থাপনা এটি। এর গায়ে আরবীতে লিখা ‘সুরা ইয়াসিন’ ।
এর ভিতরে বিশাল এক পাথর আছে । পাথর কেটে ভিতরে মসজিদ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে । যেখানে একসঙ্গে কয়েকজন মুসল্লি নামাজ পড়তে পারেন ।
এখন সোনালী রঙের গুম্বুজটাই গোটা ‘বাইতুল মোকাদ্দাস’ বা ‘আল আকসা মসজিদে’র প্রতিনিধি হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে ।
ইহুদীরা মনে করে এই স্থানেই ছিল তাদের ‘ফাস্ট ও সেকেন্ড টেম্পল’। যা রোমানরা এসে ধ্বংস করে দেয় ৭০ খ্রি.। এটিই হচ্ছে তাদের ফাউন্ডেশন স্টোন । ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর । তাদের মতে মহা বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে পবিত্রতম স্থান। ধর্মগ্রন্থ তোরাহ অনুয়ায়ী জাকোব বা ইয়াকুব নবী যে বেদি নির্মাণ করেছিলেন এটি সেই পাথর ।
ইব্রাহিম নবী তার সন্তানকে এই পাথরের উপর কুরবানী দিতে চেয়েছিলেন।সকল ধর্মের কাছে তাই এটি খুবই গুরত্বপূর্ন ।
১০৯৯ সালে ক্রসেডররা এটি দখল করার পরে এটাকে খ্রিষ্টানদের গির্জা বানিয়েছিল। ১১৮৭ সালে সুলতান সালাউদ্দিন আইযুবি জেরুজালেম দখল করলে চুড়ার ক্রশকে সরিয়ে সেখানে চাঁদ বসিয়ে দেন।
ওয়েস্টার্ন ওয়াল বা বোরাক দেয়াল
একটি ১৬০ ফিটের লম্বা একটি দেয়াল যা বাইতুল মোকাদ্দাসকে ঘিরে আছে সেটি ‘বুরাক ওয়াল’ বা ‘পশ্চিম দেয়াল’ নামে পরিচিত। এর উচ্চতা ৬০ ফুট। ইহুদীদের কাছে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ন । এটি তাদের প্রথম কেবলা। এর দিকে মুখ করে তারা দিনে তিনবার প্রার্থনা করেন।
রাজা হোরোড দ্যা গ্রেটের সময় এটি নির্মান কাছ শুরু হয়। ‘ফাউন্ডেশন স্টোন’ ইহুদীদের সবচেয়ে পবিত্র পাথর হলেও ধর্মমতে ইহুদির সেখানে তাদের যাবার অনুমতি নেই । পবিত্রতা রক্ষার্থে তাই এর চারিদিকে প্রাচীর দিয়ে ঘিরে রাখা হয়েছে। এই প্রাচীরের সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে ইহুদীরা প্রার্থনা করে। এটার নাম ‘উইলিং ওয়াল’ বা ‘প্রার্থনা দেয়াল’ ও বলা হয়।
মুসলমানদের শেষনবী মুহাম্মাদদ মিরাজে যাবার সময় বোরাককে এই দেয়ালের পাশে বেঁধে রেখে নামাজ পড়েছিলেন।তাই এর নাম ‘বুরাক ওয়াল’। ওয়েস্টার্ন ওয়ালের উল্টো দিকেই ‘বোরাক মসজিদ’। তাই মুসলমানদের কাছেও এটি খুবই গুরত্বপুর্ন ।
চত্ত্বরের বাইরে :
বায়তুইল মোকাদ্দাসের বাইরে পুর্ব পাশে আছে ‘উমর মসজিদ’ ও খ্রিস্টানদের ‘পবিত্র গির্জা সেপালচার’। এখানেই যীশুকে ক্রুশ বিদ্ধ করা হয়েছিল এবং এখান থেকেই তার পুনর্জন্ম হয়েছিল। খ্রিষ্টানদের জন্য এটি তাই খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ন জায়গা ।
মুসলমানেরা যখন জেরুজালেম জয় করে তখন জেরুজালেমের খ্রিস্টান শাসনকর্তা পেট্রিয়ার্ক সফ্রোনিয়াস একটি শর্ত জুড়ে দেন । তিনি খলিফা ছাড়া অন্য কারো হাতে শহরের চাবি দিতে রাজি নন। তখন মদিনা থেকে খলিফা উমর এসেছিলেন জেরুজালেম শহরের চাবি গ্রহণ করতে। সেসময় চার্চের ভীতর নামাজ পড়তে বললে তিনি তা নাকচ করে দিয়ে বাহিরে এসে নামাজ পড়েন। তিনি বলেছিলেন খলিফা যদি চার্চের ভিতর নামাজ পড়ে তাহলে পরবর্তীতে মুসলমানেরা এটিকে মসজিদ বানিয়ে ফেলবে। খলিফা উমর চার্চের বাইরে যেখানে নামাঝ পড়েছিলেন সেখানে পরবর্তীতে মুসলমানেরা মসজিদ বানায়। নাম দেয় ‘মসজিদে উমর’। মুসলমানদের জন্য তাই এই এলাকাটি খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
