আলেকজান্ডার হচ্ছেন পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসের সবচেয়ে প্রভাবশালী যোদ্ধা। মাত্র ৩২ বছর বয়সে যিনি পৃথিবীর অর্ধেকটাই দখল করে ফেলেছিল। গ্রিস থেকে ভারতের পাঞ্জাব দখলে তিনি একটি যুদ্ধেও হারেনি। ইতিহাসের এই পরাক্রমশালী যোদ্ধার কথা মানুষ দুই হাজার বছর পরও মনে রেখেছে। সবাই তাকে চেনে আলেকজান্ডার, আলেকজান্ডার দ্যা গ্রেট নামে।

 

পুরোধারাবাহিক জুড়ে আমরা নজর দেবো আলেকজান্ডারের জন্ম, মৃত্যু, শিক্ষা, প্রেম এবং যুদ্ধসহ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ঘটনাগুলোর দিকে। আজ একাদশ কিস্তিতে নজর দেয়া যাক আলেকজান্ডারের মৃত্যু পরবর্তী বিশাল সাম্রাজ্যের দিকে।

 

 

১০ জুলাই ৩২৩ খ্রী.পু। মাত্র ৩২ বছর বয়সে রহস্যজনক এক রোগে মারা যান পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে প্রভাবশালী ব্যক্তি আলেকজান্ডার। মারা যাবার সময় কোন উত্তরসুরি রেখে যাননি তিনি। যখন মারা যান তখন তার প্রথম সন্তান স্ত্রী রোখসানার পেটে।

 

তার মৃত্যুর পর এতবড় সম্রাজ্জের এর মালিক কে হবে? এমন প্রশ্ন বারবার করা হলে আলেকজ্যান্ডার শুধু ফিসফিস করে বলেছিলেন, ‘যে শ্রেষ্ঠ সেই হবে এই সম্রাজের প্রধান’। তবে এই নিয়েও মতভেদ আছে।অনেকে দাবি করেন তিনি ফিসফিস করে সেনাপতি ‘ক্রাইটাস’এর নাম বলেছিলেন কিন্তু সেখানে তিনিউপস্থিত না থাকায় অন্যরা বলে বেড়ায় যে তিনি বলেছে ‘ক্রাটাস্টোস’ মানে ‘টু দ্যা স্ট্রংগেস্ট’ তার মানে যে শ্রেষ্ট এবং শক্তিশালী সেই হবে পরবর্তী রাজা।

তার মৃত্যুর পর চার টুকরো হয়ে যায় তার সম্রাজ্য। আর মৃত্যুর সাথে সাথেই তার লাশ নিয়ে শুরু হয় তার জেনারেলদের মধ্যে দ্বন্দ। তার এই মৃতদেহ নিজের কাছে রাখলে সেই হবে বৈধ উত্তরসুরি এটাই ছিল সবার চিন্তা। মৃতদেহ নিয়ে সবার মধ্যে দ্বন্দ যখন চরমে তখন একটি সোনায় মোড়ানো গাড়িত করে  মৃতদেহ মেসিডোনিয়ায় পাঠানো হয়।

 

কিন্তু রাস্তায় তার মৃতদহে হাইজ্যাক করে মিসরের আলেকজান্দ্রিয়াতে দাফন করে বন্ধু সহযোদ্ধা টলেমি। যদিও কোথায় তাকে সমাহিত করা হয়েছে তা কেউই জানে না। আলেকজান্ডারের  সমাধিস্থল তাই আজও একটি অমীমাংসিত রহস্য।মেসিডোনিয়া ও গ্রীস দখল করে ক্যাসানডার, ব্যবিলন দখলে যায় টলেমীর, আর ভারতে অংশটুকু যায় জেনারেল সেলুকাসের দখলে। যদিও তার মৃত্যু দুই বছরের মধ্য ভারতে আলেকজান্ডারের শাসন শেষ হয় মৌর্য সম্রাজের উত্থানের কারনে।রোকসানা অন্যদুই স্ত্রীকে হত্যা করে এবং নিজে মেসিডোনিয়া চলে যায় শাশুড়ী অলিম্পাসের কাছে।

 

মৃত্যুর ১৩ বছর পর মেসিডোনিয়ায় পুত্রের সাথে রোখসানাকেও বিষ প্রযোগে হত্যা করে ক্যাসানদ্রোস। যাতে ভবিষ্যৎ কোন উত্তরসুরি না থাকে। মা অলিম্পিয়াসকেও প্রথমে মৃত্যদন্ড দেয়া হলেও সৈন্যরা মহান আলেকজান্ডারের মাকে খুন করতে অপরাগতা জানান । পরে তাকে পাথরছুড়ে খুন করে ক্যাসানদ্রোসের পরিবার। আর ক্যাসানদ্রোস মধ্য গ্রিসের রাজা হন এন্টিপাতকে খুন করে।

 

আর আলেকজান্ডারের ভালোবাসার পুরুষ বাগোস যে মুত্যুর দিন পর্যন্ত পরম মমতা আর ভালোবাসা নিয়ে সাথে ছিল, তার খবর ইতিহাসের পাতা থেকে মুছে যায়। আর কোন হদিস পাওয়া যায় না ।
