ঋতুপর্ণ ঘোষ যার শরীরে নারীর মন আটকা পড়েছিল। তিনি যত সুন্দর নারীকে বুঝেছেন নারী হয়েও কত নারী তা বোঝে না। আর কোন পুরুষ পরিচালক নারীর জীবনকে এতভাবে এক্সপ্লেইন করেননি।
তার সিনেমার মূল উপজীব্যই ছিল উইম্যান বা নারী। মানে অন্যদের মত কমার্শিয়াল বেসিসে নারীর নাচ, গান, নারীকে পণ্য করে তুলে ধরা এসব অর্থে একজন মেয়ে তার সিনেমায় ঠিক আসেনি।
তার সিনেমায় উইম্যান এই টার্মটা এসেছে মেয়ে, মাঝবয়েসী মহিলা, প্রৌঢ়া, জননী প্রত্যেকের এক জটিল জগত নিয়ে বা বলা যায় তাদের অতি সহজ সরল ব্যক্তিগত অনুভূতি যার সুনিপূণ উপস্থাপন এতদিন অনুপস্থিত ছিল সিনেমায়।
একজন একাকী নারীর জীবন,অনুভূতি,মা-মেয়ের সম্পর্কে টানাপোড়েন, স্বামীর পরকীয়া এবং তা স্বত্ত্বেও ভালোবাসার কারণে শেষ পর্যন্ত নতি স্বীকার, যৌন হয়রানির স্বীকার মেয়েটির চুপ হয়ে যাওয়া সংসার টেকাতে এগুলা খুব নিদারুণ সত্য আমাদের প্রাত্যাহিক আটপৌরে সমাজে।
মিঃ ঘোষ সেগুলার অতি সিনেমাটিক রূপায়ন করেননি। যেমনটি সমাজে ছিল ঠিক তেমন টি উঠিয়ে এনেছেন রূপালী পর্দায়। তাই এত মিশে গিয়েছে দর্শক।
সত্যজিৎ রায়, মৃণাল সেন তাদের পর আসলেন ঋতুপর্ণ, মানে বাঙ্গালী জনগণের মনোজগৎ স্পর্শ করলেন। সিনেমা অনেকেই বানায় কিন্তু দর্শকের অনুভূতি সবাই টাচ করতে পারে না।
ঋতু এসেই কমার্শিয়াল ধারার যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের চলচ্চিত্র চলছিল যার বেশির ভাগই ছোট বউ, বড় বউ, নাগ -নাগিনীর ছবি ছিল সেখান থেকে পাশ কাটিয়ে অন্য ধরনের ভিজুয়্যালের সাথে দর্শক কে পরিচিত করালেন। টলিউডের সিনেমার মোড় ঘোরার শুরু সেই সেখান থেকেই।হালের সৃজিত বা কৌশিক গাঙ্গুলী বা শিবপ্রসাদ- নন্দিতার যে মুভিগুলা দেখি সেই ঘরানার শুরুটাই করেছিলেন ঋতুপর্ণই ।
তার সিনেমায় আর্ট আর কমার্শিয়াল ভাবনা একত্রে মিশেছে। একদিকে ঋতুপর্ণা, প্রসেনজিত,ইন্দ্রাণী, দেবশ্রী অন্যদিকে মমতাশংকর,অনন্যা,কিরণ খেররা। এসেছেন প্রীতি,ঐশ্বরিয়া,বিপাশা,অমিতাভ,অর্জুন রামপাল রাও।
আমার ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে সবচেয়ে ভাল লাগে ‘ উনেশ এপ্রিল। দেবশ্রী রায়ের অভিনয় এত সুন্দর!!! আজকে যখন নারীর বাইরে কাজ করা নিয়ে,সন্তান পালন নিয়ে কথা উঠছে সেই একি জিনিস ৯৪ তেই চমৎকার পোট্রে করেছেন।মজার ব্যাপার এই বিষয়গুলা তখন সেভাবে সিনেমায় ফুটে নি যতটা এখন আসছে।স্ত্রীর সাফল্যে স্বামীর ঈর্ষা যা খুব ই প্রচলিত, মাকে সন্তানের ভুল বুঝা প্রতিটি যাপিত দৃশ্য ফ্যাক্ট করেছেন ঋতুপর্ণ।
আরেকটি মুগ্ধকর সিনেমা “বাড়িওয়ালি”। মধ্য বয়সী এক ব্যক্তিত্বসম্পন্ন মহিলা একাকী থাকেন তার বিশাল বড় বাড়িতে।তার একাকিত্বের যন্ত্রণা তুলে ধরেছেন।মাঝবয়েসী এক মহিলার চাওয়া-পাওয়া আছে, সবি আছে এটা কজনই বা চিন্তা করে। তুলে ধরলেন ঋতুপর্ণ।
“দোসর ” এ দেখালেন আরেক যাপিত সত্য। পরকীয়ায় লিপ্ত স্বামী, এক্সিডেন্টের পর স্বামীর সেবা করেন স্ত্রী হৃদয়ে এক বুক অভিমান নিয়ে কিন্তু ছেড়ে যেতে পারেন না ভালোবাসার কাছে নতি স্বীকার করে রয়েই যান সেই স্বামীর কাছে। স্বামীও তাকে দিব্যি বুঝিয়ে মানিয়ে ফেলেন। এমন উদাহরণ কিন্তু অনেক আশেপাশে।
“তিতলি” মুভিতে মা-মেয়ের রসায়ন।মা যাকে একসময় পছন্দ করতেন ফিল্মস্টার হয়ে ওঠা সেই ছেলেকে তারপর মেয়ে পছন্দ করে।ছেলেটি মায়ের বিরহে বিয়েও করে না।মেয়ের অভিমান “তুমি বাবাকে ঠকালে কেন”? শেষ দৃশ্যে মা মেয়েকে বুঝায় যে সে তার বাবাকে ঠকায় নি।কি ম্যাচিউর উপ্সথাপন।এইসব গল্পও সমাজে আছে।

খুব আলোচিত “দহন”। সিনেমা শুরু হয় চিঠি পড়া দিয়ে। ঋতুপর্ণা শ্লীলতাহানির স্বীকার হন তাকে রক্ষা করেন ইন্দ্রাণী কোর্টে গিয়ে রিতু বখাটেদের বিরুদ্ধে কিছু বলে না সংসার টিকিয়ে রাখতে, ওদিকে ইন্দ্রানীর বয়ফ্রেন্ড ও এড়িয়ে যেতে বলে বখাটেদের ভয়ে।এখানেই মূল প্রশ্ন।উপমহাদেশীয় মধ্যবিত্ত সমাজে বেশিরভাগ পুরুষ ই অতি নিরীহ, তারা কাউকে উত্তক্ত করে না কিন্তু স্ত্রী, কন্যা রেপড বা নিগ্রহের স্বীকার হলে তারা এড়িয়ে যেতে বলেন। কিন্তু রেপড বা নিগৃহিত তার আপন মেয়েটির সারা জীবনের মানসিক ট্রমা কি তিনি কোনদিন বুঝবেন? ঋতুপর্ণ এটিই দেখিয়েছেন।
সিনেমা শেষ ও হয় চিঠি দিয়েই। রিতুর ভয়েস ” আমার বড্ড ভয় হয়,আমরা সবাই যে একা”
না আজকে ঋতুপর্ণ ঘোষের জন্ম বা মৃত্যু দিবস কোনটাই না। ঋতুপর্ণ ঘোষ দেখা শুরু করেছি এবং দেখে এতটাই মুগ্ধ হয়েছি কথা গুলো না বলে পারলাম না।এখন যা ঘটছে সেগুলা অনেক আগেই তিনি দেখিয়েছেন।
তার প্রতিটা মুভি কোন না কোন দিকে ন্যাশনাল এওয়ার্ড পেয়েছে। কোনটা বেস্ট ফিল্মের, ত কোন টা বেস্ট এক্ট্রেস এর।মোট ১২ টা!!! হিন্দি সিনেমা রেইনকোট ডিরেকশন দিয়েছেন।
একেক বয়সে হরমোনের কারণে মানুষের ধারণার পরিবর্তন ঘটে।দেখবেন যেই মুভি ২০ এ ভাল লাগত অনেক সময় ই সেই মুভি ৩০ এ গিয়ে অর্থহীন মনে হয় (অবশ্যই সব নয়)। ঋতুর সিনেমা দেখে মনে হয়েছে তার মুভি যত বয়স বাড়বে বুঝতে তত সুবিধা হবে,মিশতে তত সহজ হবে।
ঋতুপর্ণ নিজেই বলতেন “আমার মুভিগুলা ফেমিনিস্ট না, উইমেনিস্ট”
হয়ত তিনি প্রবলভাবে নারী হতে চেয়েছিলেন বলেই নারীর অনুভূতির খোঁজে বেড়িয়েছেন। নারীর অন্তর্জগত নিয়ে প্রবল কৌতুহলে কাজ করেছেন আর তা সিনেমায় রূপ দিয়েছেন।
